The Scheme

How The Rakhi Bumper 2026 Works

The scheme carries a total of Fourteen Lakh lottery tickets, split across two series — Series A and Series B — each numbered from 300000 to 999999.

Every ticket carries a face value of MRP minus GST minus the discount approved under the scheme, so what you pay at the counter (₹500) already reflects the applicable deductions.

The draw takes place on 29th August 2026 from 6:00 PM onwards and is streamed live so every ticket holder can watch their numbers called in real time.

Prize Claim Process & Important Rules

Where and how do I claim my prize?
All prize-winning tickets must reach the Directorate of Small Savings, Banking and Lotteries, Punjab — Vit Te Yojana Bhawan, Plot No. 2B, Sector-33A, Chandigarh — within 30 days of the result being published in the Punjab State Government Gazette. You may submit it in person, through a Nationalised Bank, by registered post, or by insured parcel.
What happens if I miss the 30-day window?
If a winning ticket does not reach the Directorate within 30 days, the right to claim the prize is extinguished in accordance with the Punjab State Lotteries Rules, 2015. Prizes are also subject to TDS deducted at source.
Can smaller prizes be paid directly by the seller?
Yes. Prizes up to ₹10,000 can be disbursed directly by the seller or sub-agents within 30 days of the result notification, on behalf of the Directorate.
What should I check before buying a ticket?
Sub-agents and sellers are advised to check the correctness of printing and numbering before selling, and buyers should do the same before purchasing. A defective ticket should never be sold and must be returned immediately to the issuing authority.
What if my ticket gets damaged?
A ticket that is forged, torn, mutilated or tampered with is not eligible for payment. Prizes are paid only on presentation of the original, intact prize-winning ticket, so keep your ticket safe until the result is declared.
How many prizes can one ticket win?
Each ticket is entitled to only one prize — the highest prize drawn against it.
What if there is a dispute?
In case of any dispute, the decision of the Directorate of Small Savings, Banking and Lotteries, Punjab is final and binding. Legal jurisdiction for this lottery lies exclusively with Chandigarh.
Can the draw date change?
The Government of Punjab reserves the right to change the date of the draw. Always confirm the latest schedule via the official Gazette notification.
I live outside India — how would I be paid?
Prize-winning ticket holders based abroad are paid in Indian Currency. Please refer to the full official lottery scheme document for further details.
